Industrial production
A wide variety of substrates require washing and drying as part of industrial production processes. The standard of cleaning required varies, depending on the individual application (substrate, type of soil, processing method). This can range from a simple intermediate wash to a pre-coating clean to particle decontamination under cleanroom conditions. Miele washer-disinfectors have proved ideal and versatile in coping with these special applications.
Machine features
All industrial cleaners feature the following:
  • Discontinuous batch operation
  • Compact single-cabinet system (cleaning, rinsing and drying)
  • Water-based circulation and spray system
  • Fresh-water principle
  • Water recycling
  • Variable adjustment of process parameters to individual requirements.
Cleaning programmes typically consist of several process stages. The machine takes in fresh water or process water from a storage tank at the beginning of each programme phase. This water is then circulated and sprayed onto the load via rotating spray arms. Process chemicals are dispensed automatically at the appropriate times. Process water is heated according to the specific requirements of the programme. At the end of each programme stage, water is either discharged as effluent, transferred to an effluent treatment unit or pumped into a storage tank.
Cleaning levels
Depending on the geometry of the parts, 1-4 levels or 1-5 levels are available for cleaning on the IR 6001 and G 7825 - G 7828 washers respectively. This allows optimum use to be made of the entire cabinet, resulting in high throughput rates.
Water recycling
The DUO drain system (dual-hose drainage available as standard feature or optional extra, depending on model) allows the operator to decide on water discharge individually for each programme stage. Discharged water can be released into the sewage system, into a water treatment plant or into

a recycling tank. Water from the recycling tank can be reused in a later programme cycle.
In this case, the water is pumped back into the machine by an integrated pump (IR 6001).

Process A without detergent or rinse water recycling
Fresh water is taken in for each stage of the programme cycle to ensure high-level and repeatable cleaning standards. Detergent concentration: 0.3 - 1%.
Process B with rinse water recycling

In this case, the fresh water used for the rinal rinse is collected and reused in the main wash of the following programme cycle. Detergent concentration: 0.3 - 1%.
Benefit: Reduction in water consumption: 30-60%. The method used depends on the application.

Process C with detergent recycling

In this case, the main wash liquor with detergent is used several times over. Rinsing is always with fresh water. Detergent concentration: 5 - 30%.
Benefit: Reduction in detergent consumption. The method used depends on the application.
